British Fair 2014

Had a wonderful time at the British Fair yesterday.
It is a great annual event that takes place at Hankyu Department Store in Osaka. It's getting more and more popular each year and the amount of people it attracts is AMAZING! A nice variety of company representatives, designers, artists and chefs are invited over from England to showcase their products and introduce a bit of British culture to Japan. There are lots of goodies to buy and you can enjoy popular British food and beverages too.

I did a short rakugo story and a talk show with a very cheerful British man, Anthony Flenley, who is the Managing Director of a company in Osaka that produces miso. Our MC was a radio show producer from MBS, Mr Ito. The audience was really warm and friendly. We talked for an hour about England and Japan and the time just flew by. I then spent the rest of the day watching artists at work and meeting lots of really lovely people. I chatted with everyone and joined the party in the evening where we enjoyed some live music, including a bagpipe performance, and I was given some scones and jam to take home. Perfect. Great event! Proud to be British.
